The Digital Manuscript Technical Details

The original manuscript measures 112cm by 77.5cm (44inches by 30.5 inches), thus we decided to take a series of digital camera images and "stitch" them together into two individual images. The resulting resolution is approximatesly 180pixels/cm (470pixels/inch) over the whole manuscript. The original photography and stitching were done by Rudolf Gschwind and Lukas Rosenthaler, Imaging & Media Lab, University of Basel.
